Audit & Accounts Junior
Location: Oxford
Salary: £24,000 to £26,000 plus excellent benefits package with hybrid and flexible working options.
Our client is a top 50 accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals in Central and Southern England. A new opportunity has arisen for an Audit & Accounts Junior to join our client's Oxford Compliance team. This role offers comprehensive induction and a full study package to pursue professional qualifications. This is a great opportunity for someone who has at least 1 year's UK audit &/or accounts practice experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Building productive working relationships with clients as required.
2. Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications.
3. Preparing audit working papers for the areas that you are involved in, including but not limited to bank, fixed assets, wages and salaries, debtors, and creditors.
4. Attending clients' stocktakes and reporting findings.
5. Assisting more senior members of staff in other areas of the file.
6. Preparing notes to summarise your findings and recommendations for the senior's, manager's, and partner's attention.
7. Posting the audit clients' trial balances into statutory accounts format and updating disclosures as necessary.
8. Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader and partnership accounts.
9. Preparation of working papers/control accounts from incomplete accounting records.
10. Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners, and clients.
11. Preparing basic corporation tax computations for clients.
Candidate Requirements:
1. At least 1 year's UK audit &/or accounts practice experience.
2. Educated to A-Level (or equivalent standard) or higher e.g. degree. You must have a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades A, B, B or higher.
3. Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel.
4. Exceptional attention to detail.
5. Proven communication skills, verbal and written.
6. A positive, confident, and proactive attitude.
7. Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated.
8. Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies.
