The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of the Clinical Chemistry sections within the Blood Sciences Department.
The primary task is to efficiently manage the assigned section of the laboratory, conducting a diverse range of highly specialised and diagnostic techniques to ensure the provision of a laboratory service that meets the required standards. These responsibilities encompass activities such as sample analysis, technical validation, interpretation and reporting of results, method evaluation and the development of staff.

Job responsibilities
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Eastern site based in Exeter provides acute healthcare services to a population of approximately half a million people living in Mid Devon, East Devon, and the surrounding area. The hospital also provides a range of specialist services across the UK and Europe.
We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientists or Clinical Scientists. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to organise and motivate staff. The appointee will assist the members of the Blood Sciences management team in providing a comprehensive, cost-effective, and high-quality laboratory service to the Trust.
Applicants must be HCPC registered in a busy NHS Trust with significant Clinical Chemistry activity. A higher-level qualification to MSc is expected, as is demonstrable experience commensurate with the grade of the post. A further management or risk/quality qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
The successful applicant will play a significant part in the development of the service within the Blood Sciences Department, providing a robust, fit-for-purpose service.
Following suitable training, the candidate may be required to participate in our 24/7 shift service.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
