Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our client team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, behaviour management, and the ability to support individuals with dementia and other health challenges.
Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised care to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
* Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to support residents with challenging behaviours.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of residents.
* Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
* Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents.
Requirements
* Previous experience in patient care or a similar role within nursing homes or assisted living environments is preferred.
* Knowledge of dementia care principles and practices is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
* Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards individuals with diverse needs.
* Basic understanding of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
* A relevant qualification in health or social care would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Must be willing to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
