The School of Construction and Engineering is looking for a full-time Plumbing Lecturer who can use their industry knowledge to help our budding plumbers excel within practical and theoretical environments. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing Lecturer or current Plumber experienced in the industry to fully change career into an educational setting and share knowledge and skills with the next generation.
We are looking for someone with excellent practical vocational skills, backed up by the required theoretical knowledge to teach on a range of levels including level 1 to 3, along with part-time courses. You must be passionate about the trade and able to prepare our students for the world of work. Alongside this, you will need to keep detailed records and track outcomes using the appropriate college systems.
Our Plumbing courses are delivered by tutors with extensive knowledge and professional expertise of the industry and work closely with employers to develop students and their own skills. As well as the relevant skills and industry standard qualifications at Level 3 in Plumbing, we are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential.
Holding a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential as training and the chance to achieve a teaching qualification whilst working for the College will be provided. Assessor and/or IQA qualifications would be advantageous. You will have an ability to promote, support and embed English and maths skills within the planning and delivery of all teaching.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours a week, which may include evening work based at our brand-new industry-specific facility at our Barnfield Campus in Luton.
