The MPS Planning Team Leader leads a team of MPS Planners in processing orders, assessing capacity constraints, and identifying production concerns. They assist in resolving bottlenecks, support production heads as needed, and provide updates to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) team.This role reports to the Operations Manager and is part of the operations team. The Team Leader ensures timely processing of commercial inquiries and orders through the ERP system while maintaining accurate records for auditing. They also manage the performance and costs of freight forwarding companies. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee the team entering sales orders onto the ERP (our internal planning system) Aiding the expediting of orders and giving status feedback on capacity issues Oversee the team producing and collating daily manufacturing orders through the ERP system. Answering admin emails Help resolve documentation issues. Managing the team releasing Rapid / Expedited production orders Highlighting purchasing supply issues affecting production Order chases sending early warnings to SCM and CSC advising of order delays. Supporting general data entry and admin. Responsible for developing and increasing the relationships within the Marketing companies in terms of communication and service Responsible for monthly reporting and KPIs To complete and/or produce intercompany surveys Join Sales and Operation calls arranged by Global Supply Chain. Liaise and communicate with other departments. To continuously monitor for improvements and efficiencies within the department Monitor on-time delivery and production lead time Responsible for the MPS Planning Team Perform regular 1 to 1’s with the scheduling team members. Assess and instigate training requirements for the team. Perform annual PEP’s and mid-year reviews. Manage the workload of the team members. Contribute towards business improvements and manufacturing excellence projects. The ideal candidate Ability to effectively lead a team and be a team player Knowledge of basic production processes, including product lines and dispatch processes Holistic business understanding Microsoft Office experience Knowledge of Fourth shift and or SAP is desirable, but not essential Effective communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence, when required Self-motivated to improve performance and results Good analytical skills Attention to detail Continuous Improvement Ability to delegate and empower others GCSE Maths & English IT and Data inputting experience Relevant industry background in a similar role Minimum 2 years’ work experience in Manufacturing Leadership experience This position is based on-site at Bridgwater.
