We are seeking an immediate start Therapeutic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in a nurturing environment designed for pupils who find mainstream education challenging. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional skilled in therapeutic intervention, behaviour de-escalation, and providing pastoral care. Day-to-day of the role: Working hours: Monday to Friday (term time only) from 8am to 4pm Implement therapeutic interventions to support the emotional and educational development of pupils with trauma and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs). Work closely with pupils to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner. Provide emotional support and pastoral care to help students cope with personal and academic challenges. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to plan and coordinate support strategies tailored to individual student needs. Monitor and report on the progress of interventions and student outcomes, adapting strategies as needed to maximise effectiveness. Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes respect, understanding, and inclusion. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a similar role, working with children or young people who have experienced trauma or have SEMH needs. Strong understanding of therapeutic intervention techniques and behaviour management strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire trust in students. Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children in their education and personal development.
