Job overview
The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Urgent Care Pathway within a Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) team, and a day in the in-patient service on the same site. The Trust regards this as an opportune moment to develop the functioning of the team.
This post is one example of the commitment of the Trust to develop better provision and capacity for service users and the families and carers using the service in challenging times. This post completes the medical establishment of the team, providing a minimum of 1 whole-time equivalent Consultant Psychiatrist for the Division or locality area.
To provide intensive and responsive crisis resolution and home treatment to adults aged 18 and over with a functional mental health problem, ensuring individuals are treated in the least restrictive fashion which is consistent with their clinical and safety needs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to:
* Manage the CRHT referrals, team meetings, and supervision of team members.
* Manage complex cases.
* Provide clinical leadership of the team.
* Assess referrals/admissions.
* Formulate care plans and treatment, providing guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
* Liaise and collaborate with other services/agencies.
* Engage in multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working.
* Perform other clinical duties as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to the Trust’s delivery of its integrated clinical governance and quality improvement agenda along with the National Service Framework modernisation agendas. Specific responsibilities will be agreed in collaboration with colleagues of the multidisciplinary community and inpatient teams, the general manager, lead consultant, and clinical director.
The post holder will be expected to select relevant subjects for audit and achieve data collection targets in line with Care Group objectives and record timely clinical activity data while supporting junior medical staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team in undertaking and presenting relevant audit projects.

Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Transport
* Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.

* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
