About Us:
Voltempo is developing rapid DC HyperCharging solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively internationally as the transport sector electrifies. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Government eFreight2030 programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK’s first eHGVs charging network.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative System Integration Engineer to support the implementation, management, and optimization of MRP (Material Requirements Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, and IT infrastructure. This role will focus on ensuring seamless integration across business systems to enhance operational efficiency and support manufacturing and business objectives. This role is pivotal in supporting the digital backbone of the organization, ensuring that all business systems are effectively integrated and optimized for seamless operations and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation, integration, and maintenance of MRP, MES, ERP, and IT systems to streamline operations and improve productivity.
* Collaborate with stakeholders from manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production teams to align system functionalities with business needs.
* Manage system interfaces to ensure accurate data flow between systems and other platforms.
* Conduct system audits and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
* Develop and maintain system documentation, including workflows, user manuals, and best practices.
* Provide troubleshooting for MRP, MES, ERP, and IT-related issues to minimize downtime.
* Train users on system functionality and ensure all staff are proficient in using integrated systems.
* Monitor and manage data integrity within the systems to ensure accurate reporting and analytics.
* Work closely external vendors to ensure infrastructure compatibility, security, and performance.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in system integration, manufacturing software, and IT to recommend system upgrades or replacements.
* Assist in implementing and supporting cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data.
* Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to ensure system alignment with business objectives.
* Provide regular reports on system performance, uptime, and key metrics to management.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in system integration, with a focus on MRP, MES, and ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with IT systems, databases, and software tools related to manufacturing operations.
* Strong understanding of business processes, particularly in manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production operations.
* Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), MES software (e.g. Tulip), and MRP tools.
* Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices for IT and manufacturing systems.
* Strong communication and training skills to ensure effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in manufacturing environments
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application in system integration.
* Certification in system integration or project management (e.g., PMP, ITIL).
