Due to an increase in workload, we are recruiting a Junior Quality Engineer for an expanding client based in South Shields.
As part of the Quality Team, candidates will be required to work within the supply chain and with internal staff to investigate and address quality issues and NCR's raised.
Interested candidates must be Time Served in a Mechanical Discipline with a demonstrable background within Quality with a good understanding of manufacturing processes including Welding, NDT and Assembly. Knowledge of Painting systems is advantageous
This role is ideal for a driven, proactive candidate looking to develop a career further within a quality engineering function.
This position is based on days and available for an immediate start.
Hours - Mon – Fri 37.5 hours – Flexible start and finish available
A Full Driving license and passport is required as you will be required to travel to suppliers as required.
Role Description
* Evaluate and audit current suppliers on a regular basis and drive improvements
* Work with the suppliers in addressing any NCR’s using proven quality tools such a.
* Work with internal teams on addressing any internal NCRs or quality issues.
* Work with Operations in supporting all aspects of the quality requirements.
* Work with proven quality tools to strengthen the quality department processes and procedures.
* Produce quality certification and documentation to support all products in-process and for shipment as required.
* Work as an integral member of the quality team to support internal auditing and support external notification and customer visits / audits.
* Work with and support other areas of the business with regards to supplying technical support and assistance on matter of quality control and assurance.
Skills & Attributes
* Time served in a relevant engineering discipline - NVQ/ HNC/HND
* Experienced within a Quality Engineering function within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment.
* Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes including Fabrication, NDT and Assembly
* CSWIP qualifications (Advantageous)
* Internal Auditing qualifications (Advantageous)
* Full UK Driving License – Essential
* UK Passport
