The school is consistently over-subscribed and works closely with parents and the local community. We are looking to employ a part time Learning Assistant to join our school. Ideally you would be an experienced Level 3 qualified Learning Assistant with knowledge of SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs, but whatever your level of experience please use the supporting statement on the application form to show us how you match the skills we need and what you can bring to the role. We are looking for adaptable individuals, who thrive under pressure and have a natural ability to solve challenges. You will also need physical and emotional resilience to work with children with a variety of special educational needs. You will be keen to use our positive behavioural approach, have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Learning support assistants will be required to work one-to-one with a child or with small groups of children delivering literacy and numeracy interventions, as well as social skills, speech and language development, mental health support and supporting children with medical conditions. There may also be times when you are needed to work in-class with teachers to support the learning of identified students with additional needs. The successful candidates will have: • Excellent and effective communication skills.
• A good standard of education/ three or more GCSEs including maths and English at Grade C minimum or L2 literacy and numeracy.
• Be NVQ Level 3 qualified or have equivalent experience of supporting teaching and learning in an educational setting
• Some experience of working with children with special needs.
• An ability to adapt and respond to the needs of the children.
· Have basic IT skills
• Have good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible
• Have high expectations and work to ensure that all children can succeed in their learning
• Be a team player
• Have a great sense of humour
