This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced team to support across all functions within the editorial department, from research and development of proposals to the production of our primary source products. The successful candidate will work across the full cross-section of the publishing programme, with a focus on conducting essential research and analysis of the market, facilitating the assessment and digitisation of rare, historic collections, and implementing methods to generate accurate metadata and transcripts that aid discovery by students and researchers across the world. Your key responsibilities will be: Assist with the research and development of new AM projects, supporting in all aspects of the formulation of project proposals. Conduct market research, including competitor surveys and checks, conference findings, and compiling feedback from scholars and librarians. Assist with outreach to archives and provide support on tasks that progress the licensing of primary source content. Oversee digitisation suppliers and other technical vendors, ensuring processes are on track, deliverables meet quality standards, and that any issues are escalated appropriately Harvest, organise and refine cataloguing metadata in spreadsheets for primary sources documents; including interpreting finding aids and existing catalogues, using automated processes and extracting data from digital facsimiles Generate and enrich metadata for sources to support optimal discoverability Run processes for generating automated transcripts and additional metadata to support discovery and accessibility of digital primary sources Represent AM in a positive and professional manner to external parties, including suppliers, editorial advisors, archivists and members of the scholarly community Use project management software to report on all aspects of progress and to support project management, including recording time against tasks, managing personal workload and updating key project and archive information. Additional duties: Contribute to the continued research and development of our digital resources Attend and report on conferences, to keep department up to date with current scholarship Conduct wider surveys of competitor activity. To be successful in this role : Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following: A passion for primary sources, heritage, and the potential of digital resources as an education and research tool Graduate in any subject area OR educated to A-level (or equivalent) with relevant work experience in related sectors Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage tasks independently to deadlines Strong ability to research and present detailed information on a wide range of subject areas Strong communication skills Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to new tasks and processes quickly Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in MS Excel Demonstrates maturity and professionalism in working with in-house staff and external partners Experience in a project-based or editorial environment (desirable) This role is offered on a Hybrid basis.
