Spanish Teacher (Primary & Secondary – Part-Time, Permanent)
Location: Liberty Woodland School, Morden
Hours: 12 hours teaching + 3 hours planning + 1.5 hours meetings per week (flexible over 3 days)
Contract: Permanent (with a 4-month probationary period)
Reports to: Deputy Head of Secondary

What You Will Do
* Deliver inspiring Spanish lessons that reflect the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and our primary curriculum.
* Design and deliver concept-based, inquiry-driven learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and authentic language use.
* Engage students in creative and purposeful communication—through speaking, listening, reading and writing—using real-world contexts.
* Use a constructivist approach to foster independence, creativity and student-led learning.
* Maintain accurate assessment data to inform teaching and track student progress.
* Contribute to interdisciplinary projects and help embed language learning across the curriculum.
* Collaborate with colleagues during weekly planning and MYP curriculum development sessions.
* Support a school-wide culture of kindness, curiosity and international-mindedness.
Who You Are
* A qualified teacher with a degree in education or a related subject.
* Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
* Experienced in teaching Primary and/or Key Stage 3 students—IB experience is a bonus.
* Passionate about language acquisition and eager to explore creative approaches to language teaching.
* A reflective practitioner who stays up to date with educational research and best practice.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check in addition to other vetting checks and will also must be able to provide satisfactory references. All school staff complete Safeguarding training, both during induction and on an ongoing basis.
Please Note: Due to the outdoor element of the school, there are physical demands of this role. The work is practical by definition and moderate levels of physical effort. It involves lifting and handling of training equipment, play equipment and other resources and to be involved in practical activities and physical care of learners and the environment. Activities are mainly out of doors and this will require walking and managing on uneven surfaces and in unpredictable weather conditions. You are required to be a role model for the staff and learners you work with, adhering to the Health & Safety procedures.
