The post is a replacement post. This is a trust wide post, but on-call commitment as well as the majority of elective activity will be based at the UHND site. Provides specialist Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics services to patients across the Trust, within a Fetal Medicine team with 2 other consultant colleagues (both based in DMH). Attend the Evidence Based Guidelines meetings, review and updating guidelines. Attend the CDDFT Quality Steering Group for Antenatal & Newborn Screening. Share attendance at the Regional Fetal Medicine Group. Liaise with colleagues and coordinate Obstetric Ultrasound Training for Trainees. Trust Lead Clinician for Multiple Pregnancy, alongside a weekly ANC. Participate in elective caesarean section lists Undertakes clinical shifts in the Department at the direction of the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology including participation on the on-call/out of hours/weekend rosters. Conducts regular clinical reviews of patients at appropriate intervals with doctors in training ensuring that the patient records (including discharge summaries) are accurately up-dated after review of each patient. Conducts clinical review and clinical management of patients referred to outpatient services. Supports and liaises with patients, families, colleagues, midwifery, support staff and external agencies to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care. Takes a leadership and mentoring role for doctors in training and others within the department Responsible for covering colleagues periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
