It’s an exciting time to join us as a Warehouse & Distribution Manager at Willen Hospice as we launch our 3 year strategy and grow our retail portfolio. With lead operational responsibility for the main warehouse, logistics and distribution functions, you will ensure an efficient, safe and cost-effective operation. In this crucial role, you’ll lead and develop a diverse, professional, highly motivated and target driven team in organising resources and ensuring stock is sourced and effectively distributed to support commercial activity to generate sustainable income for the Hospice.
Working with the Commercial Retail Managers, you will contribute to and deliver strategies and plans for the Distribution Centre to meet operational KPIs, achieve financial targets and support the delivery of the overarching retail strategy.

1. Lead, manage and develop a diverse target driven team modelling our values of inclusion, compassion, ambition, respect and excellence.
2. Drive improvements, identifying new sources of income and maximising profitability.
3. Ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse and distribution functions, planning for change and new initiatives.
4. Ensure compliance, health & safety, and sustainability initiatives are met.
5. Develop strong working partnerships with senior managers to shape and deliver the Hospice Strategic Plan.
What You’ll Need:
Good commercial judgement with the confidence to negotiate contracts and a minimum of 3 years warehouse/distribution experience managing a team is essential, preferably in a varied product background. You’ll have good knowledge and understanding of retail legislation and health and safety considerations. Excellent planning and organisational skills along with strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders, supporting operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
