Job Description
To provide a comprehensive service to individuals subject to community-based disposals; provide support to their families as appropriate.
To provide a professional service to Courts and to develop imaginative alternatives to custody within the framework of National Outcomes and Standards for social work services in the Justice System.
Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for managing a caseload which entails working directly with people, other agencies and organisations.
Work as a member of Moray Council Justice Social Work Team.
Undertake appropriate administrative tasks relating to provision of service.
Engage in appropriate supervision and undertake suitable training relevant to professional development.
Health and Safety at Work.
The Individual
Ability to work with individuals on a one to one or group work setting.
Experience and knowledge of the justice system.
Experience of case management within a multi-agency environment.
Experience of risk assessment and risk assessment tools.
Social Work qualification, eg. CSS, C.Q.S.W./Dip. Social Work, Degree in Social Work. *
Full registration with SSSC.*
Excellent communication skills, report writing skills and assessment skills.
A strong sense of core social work values.
Effective organisational and time management skills.
A working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
Ability to work as a team member but also take personal responsibility when necessary.
Ability to represent the Justice SW Team in Court; multi agency meetings and other public settings.
Ability to calm stressful discussions and individuals who are presenting as anxious.
Requirement to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray/throughout Scotland to meet operational requirements of the Service. Due to rural nature of Moray normally undertaken by use of a pool car/van.

Capacity to deal with other professionals.

Willingness to accept direction/ delegation.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs/demands of the service (e.g. working out with office hours).

Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.

Starting salary: £43,204.20 (pro-rata)
£22.92 per hour
Job 1 - 21.75 hours per week (permanent)
Job 2 - 29 hours per week (temporary for 12 months)
