Tayview Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for a practice manager to join our team due to our current manager relocating. The Practice is uniquely located across two health boards in Newport on Tay, serving approximately 9700 patients. We work from a modern healthcare premise, with a large multidisciplinary team including nursing staff, community and mental health nursing, advanced nurse practitioner, midwifery, health visitors and podiatry. We also have a branch surgery located nearby in Tayport which provides part time services for those less able to travel to our main site. We also work closely with the wider community providing services to local Care Homes and in a teaching capacity for University of Dundee undergraduates and postgraduate GP training. We are a friendly, young-ish and progressive training Practice comprising a team of seven GP Partners working alongside GP trainees, Practice nurses and Advanced Nurse Practitioners
The team is looking to appoint an ambitious, motivated and proactive business manager who is able to deliver our practice vision whilst maintaining operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experienced leadership and strategic business management skills.
2. Operational & organisational skills for overseeing the day to day management of the practice.
3. Effective team working skills including experience of managing and developing staff.
4. Proven HR skills with knowledge of current employment legislation.
5. Excellent communication skills and proficient IT skills.
6. Knowledge of current GP contracts and operating systems is desirable.
7. Experience in financial budgeting and having knowledge of both IRIS payroll & Xero accounts.
8. Excellent prioritisation and decision making skills.
9. Previous experience in Primary Care or NHS setting is preferable but open to candidates with comparable experience from other sectors.
In exchange, we offer the successful applicant:
37.5 hours per week to be worked over 4-5 days, Monday to Friday (to be negotiated with the
successful candidate)
28 days annual leave plus 10 public holidays with additional leave granted in recognition of long
service.
Salary negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
