Responsibilities:
1. Developing and delivering the National Health & Safety, Environmental & Energy strategy.
2. Providing a Health & Safety, Environmental & Energy advisory service and Management System for the UK areas of the Hydro business, along with evaluating practices and ensuring adherence to the law.
3. Proactively monitoring staff and auditing Hydro based teams and activities, with regular travel throughout the UK & Ireland, and occasional European travel.
4. Maintaining the European Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 & 45001.
5. Maintaining applicable third-party accreditation schemes within the UK.
Competency:
1. 5-10 years’ hands-on experience in SHEQ (Safety, Health Environment and Quality), independently managing a full range of responsibilities.
2. NEBOSH National Construction Health and Safety Diploma.
3. NEBOSH Environmental Certificate.
4. Lead Auditor Qualification.
5. Energy/Sustainability Certification – Experience.
6. Working knowledge of H&S, Environmental & Quality Management systems.
7. Working knowledge of ISO standards.
8. City & Guilds Confined Space trained.
9. Full knowledge of CDM 2015 Regs.
10. Organizational skills and time management are essential.
11. Experience of managing all administrative tasks.
12. Detailed reporting experience.
Key Duties:
1. Maintain a dynamic and driven approach to promoting and supporting HSE&E across the group, through a clear strategy and communication with senior management teams to deliver it.
2. Proactively deliver and monitor Health Safety, Environmental & Energy requirements including the following activities:
* Attend selected client safety and pre-start meetings and workshops, communicate outcomes, and recommend actions to the appropriate management team.
* Proactively assess new work opportunities for safety risks and considerations, implementing changes to processes as required.
* Advise employees on how to minimize or ultimately avoid risks and hazards in the workplace.
* Proactively audit the operational teams ensuring Health Safety, Environmental & Energy compliance both on and off site.
* Proactively audit supply chain partners, as needed, to ensure adherence to Health Safety & Environmental requirements.
* Manage and proactively promote the online safety & environmental forums.
* Manage COSHH and Environmental assessments as required.
* Drive continuous improvement in Health Safety, Environmental & Energy performance.
1. Ensure the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 50001 certification in accordance with the Management Systems.
2. Review the systems used for, and collate and analyse the results derived from, customer surveys undertaken by operational teams.
3. Collate, analyse, and report on customer complaints.
4. Collate, analyse, and report on Non-Conformance reports.
5. Hold regular management reviews on Quality, Environmental, Energy, & Health and Safety matters.
6. Keep up to date with current Environmental, Energy, Health and Safety legislation, by additional training when necessary, and update management and staff on any changes, which may affect work practices.
7. Liaise with Business leaders and managers to ensure that appropriate staff training is carried out on Environmental, Energy and Health and Safety matters.
8. Provide training to staff, where applicable, on Environmental, Energy and Health and Safety issues.
9. Set, collate, analyse, and report on Europe’s Quality, Environmental & Energy, Health and Safety objectives and targets, their status and Management issues, as required.
10. Perform duties in accordance with all relevant legislation, particularly the Health and Safety at Work Act, and apply the requirements of ISO45001.
11. Apply requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and 14001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
12. Other duties which the company may reasonably require the individual to undertake.
