How do you ensure the safety and development of your team to meet business requirements?
In this pivotal role, you will lead a large multi-disciplined operations team of around 12 direct reports and a wider team of 25 across 6 operational sites. The team is responsible and accountable for asset ownership and technical integrity of high voltage electricity transmission substations and associated equipment within the Warwickshire area.
Using your leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, you will grow team members' experience and develop a fully functioning operational team. Hybrid and flexible working is ingrained into our culture; this permanent opportunity offers a mix of site and home working. You’ll travel and work from multiple sites in the Lancashire area; ideally, you will live within commuting distance of this region to fulfil the role. You will provide a safe working environment and ensure procedural and legislative compliance including Occupier duties and ESQCR (Electricity Safety Quality and Continuity Regulations) Compliance on all sites under your control. There is a huge amount of asset replacement with plans for 10+ years which will require vast upgrading of the network to meet our Net Zero targets. You’ll ensure effective delivery of multi-million pound capital projects, preventative maintenance, and fault response activities, all while meeting stakeholder expectations and maintaining the integrity and reliability of the electricity transmission network. The delivery of all work is underpinned by our number one priority - safety. In line with regulation and business procedures, you will drive the safety behaviours across the team.
Must have
1. A minimum HNC qualification in an engineering discipline.
2. Proven Safety Leadership with significant operational background leading multi-disciplined engineering teams.
3. Managing costs, performance, and commerciality.
4. Strong communication skills.
5. A current full Driving Licence which allows you to drive in the UK is essential.
Desirable
Electricity transmission / distribution, maintenance and/or construction operations.
Pay and Benefits
• A salary between £60,000 and £80,000 pa + Excellent Benefits Package + Company Car + Training and Development
