CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
Position Description
Within this role, the CEO will be expected to oversee the sustainable operations of the entire organisation, meeting their short- and long-term objectives, within agreed budget lines, according to current laws and RSPCA regulation.
Role Overview
As CEO, you will be responsible for the overall operational management of the organisation together with driving the realisation of the trustees’ vision and strategies. The role involves an executive level of duties with pivotal decision-making affecting the future of the organisation and its employees. The role will also involve advising trustees, providing direction and reports that will support the trustees with governance.

Location
Llys Nini Animal Centre, Penllergaer, Swansea SA4 9WB and across the branch area.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the organisation’s short- and long-term strategy, ensuring their alignment with objectives;
* Making corporate decisions and managing overall operations and resources of the organisation;
* Communicating on behalf of the organisation with key stakeholders and the public;
* Preparing and implementing the agreed business strategies that sustainably deliver the organisation’s charitable objectives;
* Building relationships with commercial partners;
* Ensuring future growth to include acquisitions, diversification and expansion of existing business activities;
* Undertaking business and financial forecasting;
* Developing, reviewing and implementing management information systems and structures that facilitate the achievement of cost-effective operations and diverse growth activities;
* Advising trustees on investment portfolio and overseeing its management;
* Upholding all best practice policies across the organisation in accordance with branch and national Society guidance;
* Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance;
* Establishing, monitoring and improving on the KPIs of the branch’s public profile, ensuring objectives are positively presented;
* Managing structure, ensuring that all policies, procedures and succession planning mechanisms are robust enough to meet organisational needs and projected growth;
* Upholding and promoting a positive culture and standards across the entire organisation, including all sites;
* Enhancing awareness of the organisation’s brand together with capabilities of delivering animal welfare activities;
* Building an effective working relationship with the Chair of Trustees;
* Promoting the importance of Welsh language and culture wherever possible.

To lead and support the organisation, deliver all objectives, increase productivity, heighten the profile of Llys Nini, have a positive impact and ensure that the organisation is positively represented.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* A proven track record of strategic leadership, including evidence of building and delivering on credible strategies that will achieve the desired vision, direction and commercial outcomes for the organisation;
* Strong leadership skills as well as HR, staff management and development experience;
* Ability to influence, motivate and inspire effective management teams with a strong sense of accountability;
* Empathetic approach to the charity’s objectives while recognising the importance of fundraising, income generation and business development activities;
* Financial and commercial acumen – experience of managing multiple income streams;
* Experience in corporate collaboration;
* Experience in KPI implementation and management;
* Experience in relationship development and strong interpersonal skills;
* Ability to develop trust and promote effective governance in collaboration with Board of Trustees;
* Strong communication skills and experience of dealing with all aspects of the media;
* Ability to engage critically and to challenge when appropriate;
* High level of self-motivation combined with personal credibility;
* Strong negotiation skills;
* The ability to communicate effectively in Welsh is desirable.
Education and Experience
* 5 years+ of relevant experience in leading and managing complex and diverse operations;
* SME / charitable organisation background;
* Experience in risk management;
* Experience in marketing;
* Experience in HR – management / employees / volunteers;
* High level of IT proficiency;
* Full driving licence.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
