THE ROLE
The EMEA Head of Brand and Marketing will feed into the development of the global brand strategy and long-range plans, creating regionalised growth plans, whilst leading the development and implementation of the annual brand and marketing plans for the markets. They are accountable for partnering with key stakeholders across all lines of business (digital, licensing, product and content teams) and priority regions/growth markets to maximise revenue growth. They set the standard for themselves, the business, and the team in providing direction, leadership, and management of direct reports and key stakeholder relationships (internal and external).
Brand Growth and IP Development (Franchise Management)
* Strategic Growth Leader: Lead the execution of the 5-year strategic brand plan for EMEA, creating and driving the development of a detailed 2-year full-franchise executional plan to drive commercial success.
* Commercial Orientation: Support the Global Director to maximise brand commercial opportunities in EMEA by identifying strategic revenue growth opportunities for Brands & Licensing.
* Insight-Led: Ensure all plans and activities are rooted in insight, working closely with the data and insight team to create franchise plans that grow audiences and meet consumer needs.
* B2B Activation: Identify key brand themes to drive brand freshness and excitement with trade partners.
* EMEA Brand Leadership: Build strong relationships with teams across your region and take ownership of the local brand eco-system.
* Asset Creation: Develop effective brand communication tools that provide a full-franchise state of the brand.
* Franchise Leadership: Contribute to bi-annual internal Franchise Performance Reviews by sharing results and insights.
* External Orientation: Track competitor brand development, trends, and bring external orientation into the team.
Brand Management
* Understand deeply the brand foundations and develop tools that clearly communicate audience profile, experience, and segmentation.
* Utilise brand foundations to build audience segmentation and develop brand and marketing communication strategy and plans.
* Evaluate brand performance regularly and recommend changes to maintain relevancy and audience perceptions.
* Become an evangelist and expert in brand, acting as key brand guardian across the business.
* Lead team to develop and update key brand communication tools.
* Be the inventor and catalyst of brand innovation.
Marketing - Delivery and Evaluation
* Understand and care about the revenue growth drivers for Brands & Licensing, leading delivery of EMEA Bluey plans/activities.
* Contribute to the Strategic Planning process by understanding the priorities of editorial colleagues.
* Accountable for leading a team to achieve compliance of campaigns, ensuring that BBC Editorial Guidelines are followed.
* Responsible for selecting creative route for major campaigns, assessed against the creative brief.
* Manage and mitigate risks and issues.
* Direct and shape the delivery of effective creative work that reflects brand guidelines.
Leadership, Relationships and Development
* Set priorities for direct and indirect reports, managing team resources effectively.
* Work with cross-functional partners within B&L to create plans that will build the brand, fandoms, and revenue growth.
* Line-manage direct reports and establish strong relationships with peers in Editorial and Product teams.
* Simplify plans, messages, and direction for the team.
* Lift the ambition of the team to encourage innovation and risk-taking in their work.
