Pelion is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with consolidation experience and understanding of FRS 102/IFRS. This role will include involvement in the monthly financial close process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining high-quality financial records in line with audit and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
1. Key role in the monthly financial close process for all entities, which includes:
2. Recording all journals for Revenue, Cost of Sales and Operating Expenses.
3. Recording cost accruals and prepayments and other journals as required.
4. Balance Sheet reconciliations.
5. Profit and Loss analysis vs Forecast.
6. Perform monthly consolidations of financial results.
7. Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring proper classification and depreciation.
8. Act as a key liaison with external auditors, addressing queries and providing necessary documentation.
9. Prepare detailed notes to the accounts for statutory reporting purposes.
10. Assist with quarterly VAT returns and Corporation Tax computations.
11. Assist with bank and cash management, including monthly cash flow forecasts.
12. Support the Finance manager with process improvements and NetSuite optimisation projects to ensure efficient financial processes.
13. Support FP&A team with yearly budgeting process and provide detailed financial forecasts.
What we're looking for
1. Fully qualified ACCA or ACA.
2. Familiarity with Netsuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
3. Full understanding of FRS 102 and IFRS, with the ability to interpret and apply standards.
4. Intermediate Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
