Control Systems Engineer - Permanent - North West / Merseyside - £50-55k + overtime + 25 days holiday
Samuel Frank is recruiting a Control Systems Engineer to join a specialist engineering business based in the Merseyside area. The business is well established and operates in a growing, high precision industry, investing heavily in bringing more of their manufacturing process in-house. The successful Control Systems Engineer will be involved in re-engineering legacy systems, simplifying complex onerous systems and migrating to Siemens TIA Portal.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop Siemens TIA Portal control systems.
2. Create Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and document the process fully, ensuring change management compliance.
3. Engage across multiple teams to develop HMI screens to improve equipment monitoring, performance, and traceability.
4. Ensure control systems are developed to standards, ensuring UL, IEC, and ISO compliance.
5. Possess knowledge of relevant UK and EU directives for equipment for use in explosive atmospheres (e.g., ATEX).
6. Experience with industrial Ethernet communications.
7. Knowledge of Siemens WinCC within TIA Portal.
8. Experience with vacuum, temperature, pressure/flow control systems is a plus.
9. Familiarity with heat treatment processes, ovens, provers, and/or furnaces and their associated control systems is ideal.
10. Experience from the Automotive or Aerospace industries would be advantageous.
The Control Systems Engineer position will suit an individual who is hungry and passionate, looking to further themselves technically while pushing the boundaries of what's possible with controls technologies. The role is office-based with hours from Monday-Thursday 8-5pm, and Friday 8-2.30pm.
The offices are commutable from Liverpool, Widnes, Warrington, St. Helens, Ellesmere Port, Skelmersdale, Runcorn, Birchwood, West Manchester, and Ashton-in-Makerfield.
