GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of principal investigators or program directors of iSPARC, the Training Director plans, directs, and supervises all aspects of training programs within iSPARC, including but not limited to: marketing, budget management, curriculum development, and serving as liaison to the community. The Training Director is expected to assist in identification and marketing of trainings and programs within iSPARC to key stakeholders including mental health provider agencies, vocational rehabilitation agencies, civic organizations, and the scientific community (both internal and external to the Medical School).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop training strategic plans aligned with the mission of iSPARC
* Manage the tactical execution of the plan
* Design, develop, and deliver training programs based upon both need and requests
* Establish monitoring and evaluation systems, and insure their application
* Organize meetings, conferences, and workshops related to the mission of iSPARC
* Design and write training curriculum and materials
* Play a key role to develop and maintain collaborations with strategic allies, and develop earned revenue opportunities
* Provide support for organizational planning and strategic development
* Provide support for fund development, including grant writing, report writing, and relationship building with stakeholders
* Perform other team based duties as required to insure the overall success of programs within iSPARC
* Develop and manage training budgets
* Monitors training programs to insure compliance with university policies and procedures
* Supervises and mentors training staff
* Promote other training opportunities and certification programs with the medical school
* Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Advanced degree in Biology, Education, or equivalent
* 10 years of professional experience in an academic or research institute, industry, or government agency
* Demonstrated experience in program conceptualization and design
* Experience in designing curriculum and workshops
* Familiarity with popular education techniques and values
* Experience in promoting training activities
* Experience in grant writing and budgeting
* Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
