As a Planning & Reporting Analyst, you will support the management of the Society’s product ranges through focused analysis and reporting of data, providing key insights to the business to enable decision making. You will also provide support to data-driven projects and drive automation of reports.
This will include, but is not limited to overall trading performance, mortgage pipeline reporting, Current Account balance behaviour, Savings pipeline reporting, Insurance trading performance, and other items as agreed with the Head of Products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a ‘product advocate’ within the business, collaborating with other departments and our branch network to promote the features and benefits of the Society’s products.
* Process data into easy-to-understand, insightful information for the team and wider stakeholders to drive actions.
* Gather reporting requirements and work with Product Managers and Head of Products to prioritise.
* Gather and analyse data, using, but not limited to, advanced Excel and PowerBI skills.
* Develop, deliver, and maintain standard reporting templates and dashboards showing agreed metrics that support business decision making.
* Perform adhoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions.
* Ensure data quality and reliability, providing feedback to business owners, and working closely with other data teams within the business to understand source data systems.
* Support the Society's planning and budget forecasting cycle.
* Understand and adhere to the risk and control environment in your area of the business to minimise risks.
Minimum Requirements:
* Advanced Excel & PowerBI skills essential.
* Experience in other data analysis tools and techniques desired, but not essential.
* Experience in financial services product areas desired, ideally within mortgages, savings, and/or current accounts.
* Knowledge of the financial environment with excellent analytical skills – highly numerate.
* General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes, and information flow desirable.
* Ability to collect, analyse, interpret, and present data.
* Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to colleagues.
* Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results.
* Results-driven individual with a track record of working on own initiative.
* Organised and able to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met.
* Customer-focused, with an ability to understand customer needs.
* Relationship management and communication skills to drive performance.
