We are looking for a new Roastery Assistant to join our roastery team in Bristol. If you’re passionate about all things coffee, looking to take the next step in your coffee career and like the sound of being part of one of the best teams in the coffee industry, we’d love to hear from you.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Roastery Assistant is an essential and valued part of the Extract Coffee Roasters team. If successful, you’ll make the day-to-day running of a busy production facility possible by your flexibility and ability to lend a hand when needed. We’re looking for a team player with a can-do attitude to problem-solving.
Duties for this role include:
1. Packing coffee by hand
2. Assisting with the fulfillment and completion of orders
3. Daily data recording and reporting
4. Assisting with green coffee deliveries
5. General roastery daily cleaning and maintenance
You’ll also be trained on how to run and maintain packing machinery and roastery equipment. This is a physical role that requires heavy lifting, and support and training will be given to ensure your safety.
Extract is an open-plan roastery, so the roastery floor is always on display and it’s common to see customers in the roastery for meetings and training. With this in mind, you should be tidy, enthusiastic about delivering an incredible customer experience, and ready to welcome customers into the roastery at all times.
Our roastery team prides itself on a commitment to coffee excellence, so part of your role will include taking part in coffee tastings as part of our quality assurance procedures.
We’re looking for someone with coffee experience; this is a great role for someone with barista experience looking for a new challenge in their coffee career. Whilst previous roastery or warehousing experience would be an advantage, this is an entry-level role and full training will be provided.
MORE ABOUT EXTRACT COFFEE ROASTERS
Awarded best speciality roaster in the UK Coffee Awards, Extract Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee roaster on a mission to make coffee better.
By that we mean better for coffee growers, for cafes and hospitality businesses, for coffee drinkers, and for our local communities too. There will be the opportunity to get involved in Extract’s Grounds Up community projects and provide guidance to some of the people we support through roastery training and work experience.
Behind roastery doors, we are an eclectic mix of cyclists, runners, musicians, growers, bakers, bookworms, parents, artists, activists, and allies. We care about things like fairness, listening, learning, and helping others.
If successful, you’ll be paid a competitive salary, have 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (increasing with three and five years of service), and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
