Although this job is not UK based, the successful candidate will be required to attend training in the UK which will require a right to work.

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional warehouse operative to join our hard-working team based in Antarctica. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions.

You’ll be joining our Supply Chain Logistics team who enable our staff to work safely, in the right clothing, with the right equipment, in the right place. Deliver essential science support equipment and goods at the right time and support the operations aspirations through best practice and efficient practices.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out the operational aspects of the new warehouse.
* Carrying out a range of support functions including goods receiving/distribution, cargo processing, storage, and database management.
* Ensuring that goods are recorded and handled accurately once in the central store.
* Updating and maintaining official logs.
* Distribution of goods to station and field parties.
* Upholding safety policy and ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and accurate manner.
For the role of Station Stores Operative, we are looking for somebody who:
* Has previous experience working in a team in a busy warehouse environment.
* Has previous use of stock control systems.
* Has worked in a highly regulated health and safety environment.
* Is self-motivated and able to demonstrate experience of delivering results under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Is a good team worker and considerate to others.
* Has a thorough approach with excellent attention to detail.
