Cwrt Rawlin Primary School Full Time Teaching Assistant to Support Pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Fixed term, temporary until 31 st August 2026 Start date: 1 st September 2025 Cwrt Rawlin Primary School, Cae Meillion, Caerphilly, CF83 1SN Age Range 4-11 Level 1, Grade 3 32.5 hours per week, 39wks per year (term time) 8:40am - 3:40pm daily The Headteacher and Governors of Cwrt Rawlin Primary school wish to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding teaching assistant who will join our school team to work with passion and dedication to support pupils who have additional learning needs (ALN). This role involves working with pupils who have significant physical disabilities. This role will be a caring and compassionate, but active and physical role supporting pupils with complex physical and medical needs. It will involve working with children from our Reception to year 6 cohort who require full time additional support due to their physical disabilities. The successful candidate will be expected to familiarise themselves with any specific information linked to the needs of the pupil who requires additional support (e.g. advice from Educational Psychologists, information from outside agencies, speech therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists etc), attend multi-agency meetings with the ALNco and deliver aspects of a bespoke curriculum if needed e.g. Speech and Language Therapy programmes, Occupational therapy, physiotherapy etc. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to familiarise themselves with the educational needs of pupils and draw upon information provided by professionals and from the school’s ALNCo in order to support the pupil. They should keep well organised records, be able to follow reports from health professionals and be able to manage confidential documents safely and appropriately. They will work closely with multi agency staff to develop their awareness of different walkers, standing frames and supportive equipment. The school is willing to invest in training for the successful candidate in order for them to meet any requirements needed in order to support the pupil with ALN e.g. manual handling, first aid, hygiene, intimate care, etc. Please note this is part of the role and the successful candidate must be willing to deliver this support. Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014 all Learning Support staff in schools, (which includes the post referred to herein), must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016.
