Platfform has been commissioned by Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board to deliver a new and innovative service for children and young people experiencing emotional distress. To do this, we have developed an early mental health support Hub which provides timely and out of hours support for children and young people aged 11-18. The Hangout is one part of the regional provision for children and young people’s mental health. The service provides a range of support and links in with other provisions delivered by partners (including Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board) local authorities and third sector organisations to provide children and young people with the best possible experience.
There is a strong emphasis on this service being developed alongside children and young people so that it understands and meets their needs. The service provides both one-to-one wellbeing support and group-based activities, including therapeutic interventions, social events and community led initiatives.
Platfform is seeking a Wellbeing Practitioner to support the work of The Hangout, through providing direct trauma informed support to children and young people and by delivering group sessions and activities/events.
We are looking for someone who can bring a deep understanding of relationship-based practice and an ability to communicate, educate, coach and support young people to improve their wellbeing.
We are seeking practitioners who understand a trauma informed approach who can support emotional regulation and who can provide both one off and ongoing support and signposting during afternoons, evenings and weekends for the young people based in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.
You will work closely with the Service Manager and wider team of practitioners and will be provided with clinical supervision, alongside guidance and support from the team’s Assistant Psychologist.
This is an exciting time to join Platfform as we continue to develop this service and develop the regional vision of quick, effective, and accessible wellbeing support for children and young people.
