I am currently looking for an Automation Software Engineer seeking a challenging, stimulating and varied role taking entire responsibility for working on technical, bespoke customised machinery projects to fit customer needs, design PLC / HMI control system software, providing specialist expertise on control systems applications for projects that meet customer requirements within agreed time scale and estimated cost.
The successful candidate will have experience with at least one of the following: Siemens (Step 7, S7, TIA Portal, WinCC, SCADA).
The company supplies globally, specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke equipment and machinery into multiple sectors (Pharma, Food & Beverage, Dairy, Refrigeration, etc.).
The company is a global entity with a site consisting of circa 120 people. They have a very strong order book until next year and have recently added several new products to their existing product line. They are now looking for an Automation Software Engineer to join the team, based near Southampton.
Essential Requirements / Experience:
1. Must be an experienced Software Engineer with a minimum of 4+ years' experience within a technically challenging position.
2. The successful candidate will have experience with at least one of the following: Siemens (Step 7, S7, TIA Portal, WinCC).
3. Must have an engineering/manufacturing background.
4. The Software Engineer will need to be hungry to learn with a good attitude; team fit will be very important for this position. Looking for someone who wants to progress and develop.
Salary Package:
1. Perm: £40,000 - £58,000 per annum.
2. Flexi-time / Flexible working hours.
3. Based near Southampton.
The Role:
As a Software Engineer, you will be working in a small team of 10 Engineers split between Software and Electrical. This is a very well-rounded role covering all aspects of software engineering/software design for bespoke special purpose machinery. Duties include:
1. Responsible for working on technical, bespoke customised machinery projects to fit customer needs.
2. Design PLC / HMI control system software.
3. Providing specialist expertise on control systems applications for projects that meet customer requirements within agreed time scale and estimated cost.
4. Liaising with multi-disciplined engineers from machine concept through to commissioning.
