Mechanical Pre-Contract Manager Meridian are working with a well-established MEP Contractor in the North-West who are specialists in commercial projects. From continued success over recent years, there are many upcoming projects that now require a Mechanical Pre-Contract Manager to begin assessing and co-ordinating MEP contracts in the North-west. The nature of the projects will demand experience with planning Mechanical and HVAC systems within commercial projects, such as offices and hospitals. Benefits include (but are not exclusive to): £55k - £65k p.a. starting salary (negotiable DoE), with commission available based on performance Car allowance Very good additional earning potential with regular commission based on successful contracts Joining a growing team as a result of record-breaking numbers Working on a variety of new-build and refurbishment projects across the North-West such as offices, universities, hospitals, car showrooms, etc. Hands-on role, working closely with clients on initial negotiations and consultations to forecast and preview how a contract will look for the end client Being a significant role in the pre-contract phase, helping advise multiple clients on what they want, how your company can achieve this in a realistic and cost-efficient manner Holiday ‘buy back’ scheme Full Holiday, Pension, Healthcare, and SSP cover Requirements for the role: Relevant experience within Building Services and MEP Relevant qualification(s) relating to M&E, Construction and/or Building Services Experience with Mechanical building services, ideally including HVAC, Plumbing systems, various types of commercial pipefitting Experience of overseeing/negotiating commercial CAT-A and CAT-B fit outs, with both new-build and refurbishment contracts Strong communication and negotiation skills to work out what a client wants and can realistically expect Proficiency in Microsoft Office, IT systems, and report-writing Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Job duties will include (but are not exclusive to): Being client focussed to gain an initial understanding of the upcoming contract, client expectations, impacts on the supply chain, and explain how your company can best achieve the client’s vision Explaining how the Mechanical building services will impact the project, using a thorough understanding of HVAC and Mechanical building service systems Create, assess, and review tender documents for MEP projects Be able to work off clean sheet designs, and create designs and documentation using your knowledge and expertise, which can then be used to advise the client Create accurate and details tender documents, by working closely with clients, supply chain contacts, subcontractors and internal management teams Work closely with estimators and surveyors to create full job specifications and documentation for pre-contract stages ready for handover to the delivery teams Develop relationships with both existing clients and new potential customers Work closely with Design Managers and Engineers to gauge the Mechanical equipment ready for tender, as well as help the estimators gauge project durations, costs etc. Attend regular meetings with clients and internal team members to provide thorough updates If you are an experienced Mechanical Pre-Contract Manager with exposure to the M&E/MEP/Construction industry, and you have a understanding of the full Mechanical fit-out process, then this role and company would be ideal for you.
