Position Summary:
1. Accountability for your allocated category – from product development to delivery. Work with merchandising to lead department strategy in line with seasonal SWOT analysis & lessons learnt.
2. Building plan for options/spends at category level in line with department forecasts.
3. Driving department & personal KPIs to ensure the strategy is met.
4. Managing supplier relationships including capacity/hit rate/costings & lead times.
5. Managing critical paths ensuring collaboration with other buyers/categories to manage across the whole brand.
6. Directing product development to ensure alignment with trends & brand identity. Overseeing product sign off with Senior Product Director.
7. Overseeing supplier trips/meetings/trade shows. Sourcing & introducing new suppliers to maximize supply chain.
8. Using management skills to motivate direct reports.
9. Overseeing & managing relationships with wider business teams including marketing, creative, brand, and QA to ensure alignment with product vision.
10. Understanding weekly/daily reporting to instruct relevant actions to the team to maximize sales/opportunity.
11. Reviewing competitor activity to ensure we are staying ahead in the industry. Reviewing brand KPIs to ensure we are working towards the set plan/goals.
12. Generating new creative inspiration & ideas to feed into other departments to push product in the most relevant/new way.
13. Managing systems/processes – identifying opportunities to change & improve productivity. Management of samples, fit comments & QA. Lead sourcing of new fabrics.
14. Managing relationship with designer to ensure no crossover & both working towards the same goal. Analyzing shows.
