Due to the secondment of the substantive post holder, we are looking to recruit an experienced matron into the vacant Head of Nursing post in Planned Care, covering non admitted areas, children's ward and associated areas and specialist services. This post is critical to supporting and delivering aspects of the elective recovery programme and will offer varied and diverse experience to the successful applicant.
The post will be for a 12 month period, commencing January 2025 and will be on a secondment/fixed term basis, covering 5 days week with an on call commitment as part of the Senior Manager on Call rota.

The Head of Nursing is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing, midwifery or AHP’s within a defined group of clinical services in a division. They are a key member of the management team for the Division and will work closely with the Divisional Nurse Director. They have joint responsibility for the effective delivery of quality, financial and operational performance of the service line including ownership of key clinical quality
performance targets and measures for the service. Service specific aims, objectives and KPI’s will be detailed in each post holder’s personal appraisal.
