My client, who is a specialist waste management company, is now seeking to recruit an experienced Electrician to join their expanding team.
You will be reporting to the Electrical Supervisor and your role will be to work effectively as part of a team to install, service, repair, and maintain offshore oil equipment by working closely with the maintenance department. Carrying out repairs and upgrades of electrical equipment will be an integral part of the role. Help train colleagues across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HSEQ:
o Ensure awareness and compliance with all company, client, and job-specific procedures/legislation.
o Participate in company and Client Safety Observation Card programs.
o Attend safety meetings with HSEQ/Client personnel as required.
o Assist HSEQ Team in reporting and escalating any HSEQ incidents/concerns on site.
o Follow relevant permit to work and isolation procedures and work instructions.
o Actively participate in toolbox talks.
2. General Responsibilities:
o Installation, service, and repair of all company equipment.
o Log information in maintenance job cards.
o Liaise with Product Line and Project and Asset Management Teams to obtain necessary information to assist and build new equipment as required.
o Liaise with the Maintenance Manager on work scopes required for supplies, maintenance, manufacturing, and testing.
o Source information from third-party representatives as necessary.
o Provide back-up assistance to colleagues as and when required.
o Report all out of hours activity to Maintenance Manager.
3. Offshore/Overseas Maintenance:
o Traveling overseas/offshore to install, service & repair equipment as required.
o Be prepared to undertake medicals, vaccinations, and training as required for offshore/overseas travel.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Certified Electrical Qualification such as HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline.
2. ComPex Certification (desired).
3. Valid BOSIET & MIST (desired).
4. Valid OGUK Medical (for a minimum of 3 months) (desired).
5. Inspection of electrical systems, fault finding, testing, and repairs.
6. Working with electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
7. Carry out maintenance routines.
8. Carry out installations.
9. Repair breakdowns.
10. Working within drilling, drill cuttings management, solids control or drilling fluids disciplines (Desired).
11. Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industries (Desired).
12. Ability to work to a high standard at all times.
13. Ability to develop and follow operational instructions.
14. Dedicated to promoting a positive image of the Company.
15. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Responsible attitude towards safety and equipment.
17. Ability to travel offshore/overseas when required.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified time-served electrician who can hit the ground running, and who is open to working offshore on occasions. You can be offshore for a period of a couple of days to up to 3 weeks.
You will be working while in Peterhead a 40-hr week, with regular overtime and weekend working, and while working offshore you will be working a 12 hrs shift.
In return, they are paying £20.45 per hour, with £30.68 per hour overtime, and £40.90 per hour Sunday, and if needed extra for nightshift. Your Offshore day rate is £350.00 per day, and you will spend on average 60 days per year offshore, so you could easily be earning £60k+ per year. You will also get 33 days holidays per year.
