The forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer role is working in a service and repair role for an established and successful business. The position involves the service, repair and planned maintenance of material handling equipment and could be either a combination of field service and workshop based work. A company vehicle would be provided for the field service work, so a full driving licence is required.
Key tasks for the forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer role
1. The ability to diagnose equipment faults and problem solve on forklifts
2. Repair, service and planned maintenance of the equipment
3. Field service and workshop based work
4. Requires the ability to work on your own in the filed after full product training or as part of a team in the workshop.
5. Preparing customer reports and paperwork on the equipment
6. In addition the forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer is likely to have good Mechanical, Hydraulic and if possible basic 12v Electrical experience relating to this type of equipment.
7. Any Loler knowledge would also be advantageous.
Candidates suited to this role are likely to have the following
8. Ideally you will have experience in servicing and repairing forklifts or plant or an Agricultural engineering background with related knowledge.
9. However general service engineering of similar equipment or a vehicle mechanic background may be suitable and product training for successful candidates would be provided.
10. Any recognised qualifications are useful but time served experience will also be suitable.
