NHS Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health Services wish to recruit a number of Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers across their inpatient units at Midpark Hospital.
We have various hours available - full-time, part-time and Bank hours.
There are six units with up to 81 beds and each unit supports individuals with varying mental health conditions.
The units are small and friendly and support Mental Health nursing students from the University of West of Scotland as well as supporting some of our own Healthcare Support Workers through the Open University degree.
"Interviews will only be conducted in person at Midpark Hospital. No remote interviews available"
Our Mental Health teams will welcome prospective candidates who apply to this advertisement to attend Interviews in person at Midpark Hospital on the 15th November 2024
The session is an in person event and will involve:
1. An introduction to working in inpatient Mental Health units - how this differs from acute hospitals
2. A short peer to peer talk and Question and Answer session from one of our Healthcare Support Workers
3. A tour of the working environment (ward access will be determined on the day due to patient confidentiality)
4. Competency and value based interview questions
5. Followed by a short interview
This is a great opportunity for people who wish to know more about working in Mental Health services to come along and explore how we work and how rewarding the job can be.
The session will last no more that 2.5 hours, and if you feel the role is not for you after the first half of getting to know the job, you are free to leave.
We hope you will see the passion and the love our mental health family have for their jobs and will be inspired to come and work with us.
