Within the National Employer Solutions Service Line, you'll work within a strong and growing team of Employer Solutions specialists including our Employment Tax, Global Mobility and Share Scheme experts. We service clients across a variety of business types and industries, including start-up enterprises, mid-market organisations, public sector bodies and large corporations. We work closely with colleagues across the firm to provide a joined-up service, combining expertise in accounting, audit and all relevant taxes.

About the role
As a result of the continually growing demand for our specialist services, we are looking for an individual to join our expanding National Employer Solutions Team and wider People Advisory Service Group, as an Associate Director.
We are looking for a self-starting individual who is happy with responsibility, wants to work in a dynamic environment and has the flexibility to take the lead, managing multiple engagements with different teams on a simultaneous basis.
You will be responsible for providing advisory and compliance services within Employment Tax to a wide range of clients. This will involve actively building relationships and aiding senior members of staff in both client work and in the management of the group, as appropriate. You will lead a dedicated team, delegating tasks while mentoring, supporting, and nurturing their professional growth.

* Make time to coach, mentor, develop and conduct appraisals of team in a timely manner as well as identifying talent within the team and ensures they are given stretching work and development opportunities.
* Build strong capability within teams, recognising and responding to strengths of individuals and client requirements.
* Contribute positively to training and development activities of team and more broadly across the office/firm, as well as providing constructive feedback to develop and strengthen performance of team members.
* Plans activity to ensure teams are well motivated and engaged in both specific work for clients and RSM as a firm.
* Advising on and managing the delivery of advisory projects to your clients, by working with the appropriate tax advisory teams. These projects will include but will not be limited to international working tax advisory work.
* Identifying and advising, where appropriate, on tax planning opportunities and working with other specialist technical colleagues on the delivery of these opportunities as required.
* Briefing junior staff on the client’s business and the pre-project instructions, supervising, and controlling the completion of work, and undertaking ‘on the job’ training and appraisals where necessary.
* Having responsibility for a portfolio of tax compliance and advisory clients, whilst liaising and building relationships with the client, always practising the principles of excellent client service.
* Managing the project services in accordance with the firm’s standard procedures and confirming arrangements with the client, including likely costs and billing arrangements. Ensuring the work meets targeted recovery, and billing clients on a timely basis.
* Researching and preparing proposals for new work and taking part in formal presentations to prospective clients.
* Ensuring appropriate liaison takes place with all other departments and all potential client needs are identified and serviced accordingly.
* Developing a detailed knowledge of the firm’s specialist services and undertaking special work in response to client needs where appropriate.
* Maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, ensuring clients’ tax affairs comply with statutory requirements and fulfilling professional bodies’ CPD requirements.
* Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the line manager, Head of Department or any Partner.

You will have strong experience within Employment Tax, effective team management skills, with a passion for team development and relationship management. We are seeking an individual who will coach, mentor, develop and conduct appraisals of team in a timely manner as well as identifying talent within the team and ensures they are given stretching work and development opportunities.
