Financial Controller – West Sussex/Hybrid – Attractive Package
Our client is a leading heavy machinery manufacturer. They are dedicated to the sales and services of crawler cranes and excavators ranging in size from 1t to 90t, including an innovative range of demolition machinery, and lattice boom crawler cranes from 90t to 250t. Their products are highly regarded for advanced technology, including an innovative noise and dust reduction system and advanced hydraulic circuitry for power and superior fuel efficiency.
The Cranes division is responsible for the expansion and promotion of the brand through sales growth of both the cranes and their spare parts throughout UK, Ireland and Mainland Europe. To expand the sale of spare parts, the logistics and warehousing teams will require both support and strong leadership. With this in mind, they are seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible for leading, directing and managing site operations in addition to maintaining financial control of the accounting function to ensure consistent and reliable results.
Role:
1. Preparation of monthly and annual divisional accounts
2. Managing banking and cash flow forecasting
3. Management of UK Office Building Administration & repairs
4. Sales invoicing of cranes and supervision of parts sales and inventory control including management of bi-annual stock takes
5. Budgetary control and Analysis
6. Purchase Ledger Management and Supplier Payments
7. Credit Control Supervision and management and Customer Statement Reconciliations
8. Liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and company secretarial services
9. Salary administration and processing
10. Liaison with Parent company logistics team for Crane Shipments and management of Import and customs clearance through 3rd party clearing agents
11. VAT control and reconciliation of quarterly returns including VAT deferred and Postponed statements
12. Working closely with suppliers and HQ to resolve spare parts queries in a timely manner and take action to prevent further problems.
13. Monitoring priorities of customer parts orders according to their ordering request e.g. breakdown orders or stock orders etc.
14. Developing Regional parts sales and marketing strategy to improve after sales service capabilities.
15. Developing and planning of sales promotional campaigns where necessary based on data-driven analysis.
16. Reporting to Crane Division Director, Parent company Finance Manager and Group Company Logistics, Parts and finance departments
17. Propose and execute ideas for the improvement of daily operations
Requirements:
1. 5-10 years of relevant experience in Financial Accounting/Control and customer services, back office, logistics or similar environment
2. Flexible and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities
3. Excellent problem-solving ability
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Experience with computer tools (minimum MS Office, excel); knowledge of SAGE and/or SAP an advantage
