To provide administrative support to the service. The role requires someone who has great attention to detail and great organisational skills for working in a fast-paced, busy department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing of patients' admin and clinic letters, reviewing, getting ready for approval from clinicians, then uploading to our PAS system, printing and sending a paper copy to the patient.
2. Ensuring the outcome of patient attendance has been recorded correctly on PAS.
3. Administering incoming/outgoing post and understanding the Trust and departmental guidance on patient access, data protection, and patient confidentiality to apply to everyday work practices.
4. Assisting with the administration of outstanding patient appointment outcomes (uncashed appointments).
5. Carrying out general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
6. Exercising judgement and initiative when dealing with enquiries or problem-solving, seeking advice appropriately.
7. Potentially calling patients to make appointments, cancel appointments, or validate the waiting list (ensuring patients still want their appointments).

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology team are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our administration team for 30 hours a week. You will be an important part of the team, delivering a high-quality service to ensure all letters are processed and completed in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Good educational standard of at least GCSE in English.
2. Good interpersonal skills including a professional telephone manner.
3. Clerical skills.
4. Demonstrable customer service experience.
5. Previous clerical experience.
6. Previous NHS experience.
7. Ability to work as part of a team.
8. Excellent organisational skills.
9. A flexible and innovative approach.
