We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Mental Health with Dual Diagnosis experience to join our Newham service. Our team is multi-disciplinary, comprising a service manager, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators, and peer mentors. Where: Newham Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Full Time Salary Range : £ 36,635.38 - £ 42,743.46 based (pro rata for part time) Allowances: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting (pro rata for part time) Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract About the role: Your role will involve close collaboration with Newham's Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), utilising your in-depth knowledge and ability to co-work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Provide bespoke interventions for identified service users, with the aim of engaging people in the most appropriate service for their needs, reducing re-presentations and bringing about positive client outcomes. Support the development of joint working protocols with mental health services and substance misuse services (including: Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), Improving Access to Psychological Therapies services). Review service users presenting to services and undertake specialist mental health assessments as required. Identify the training and support needs of colleagues working with this group of service users and deliver training or provide support as appropriate. Identify any gaps in dual diagnosis provision and provide examples of good practice to inform future pathway and service design. Improve communication and referral pathways between substance misuse and mental health teams and other services involved in the care and treatment of people with dual diagnosis. Provide a case management role for identified dual diagnosis service users as appropriate. About you: You are a registered Mental Health Nurse with a current NMC PIN and hold a qualification in mental health treatment. You bring valuable experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN), demonstrating expertise in delivering person-centered care in community settings. You bring a wealth of experience in working with individuals facing dual diagnosis, particularly supporting those with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. Your background in community-based care equips you to deliver holistic, person-centred support, fostering recovery and promoting well-being in complex situations. You are experienced in managing caseloads of clients with complex needs, excelling in organisational and prioritisation skills to provide high-quality care. You possess advanced knowledge of therapeutic interventions tailored for individuals with dual diagnoses and the expertise to apply these strategies effectively. Additionally, you are well-versed in current policies, guidance, and legislation related to mental health, substance misuse, and dual diagnosis, ensuring your practice consistently aligns with the highest standards.
