Turners (Soham) Ltd is one of the UK's Leading and independently owned Logistics companies. We are recruiting a Traffic Planner to join our busy traffic department Groupage team working out of the Newmarket depot.
The main functions of the role are:
• Planning the fleet for collections and deliveries to collection /delivery times and optimising vehicle/driver utilisation.
• Dealing with any problems drivers may have while out on the road, liaising with the end customer if and when necessary.
Traffic planner is expected to liaise appropriately with Drivers, customers and managers, making sure all road transport legislation and WTD are being adhered to.
The role will also involve some administration support with tasks such as order entry and data input.
The position is full time, working 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, some bank holidays may be required.
The successful candidate will need good verbal and written communication skills and be computer literate.
The Requirements:
• Traffic planning experience would be advantageous.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background, ideal but not essential.
