The Procurement department has a responsibility to procure, monitor, and manage contracts for supplies, services, and works.
A Contracts Manager will manage and procure for specific procurement projects as well as development / renewal of contracts on behalf of NHS Lothian including:
1. actively engaging Service Units and other stakeholders with their contract requirements and tendering processes.
2. increase the scope of procurement activity by providing expert procurement advice and utilising wider procurement knowledge for tendering work as required.
3. ensure compliance to UK procurement regulations and NHS Lothian’s Standing Financial Instructions.
4. Ensure robust governance of spend and the delivery of best value procurement options through interrogation of local procurement strategies and the implementation of national and local contracts as appropriate.
Through the above, support the embedding of a contract management approach to spend and procurement strategy, procurement journey and procurement tools.
