Job Description
Do you want to join our Geo-data revolution? Fugro’s global reach and unique know-how will put the world at your fingertips. Our love of exploration and technical expertise help us to provide our clients with invaluable insights. We source and make sense of the most relevant Geo-data for their needs, so they can design, build and operate their assets more safely, sustainably and efficiently. But we’re always looking for new talent to take the next step with us. For bright minds who enjoy meaningful work and want to push our pioneering spirit further. For individuals who can take the initiative but work well within a team.
The Role
As a Workshop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the preparation, testing, and maintenance of survey equipment, data acquisition, and data processing systems. Your duties will include testing, maintaining, and repairing all types of survey equipment and associated software. You will manage QC testing, maintenance, and repair records for survey equipment, ensuring technical and equipment registers are kept up to date.
Additionally, you will assist with the mobilisation of equipment onto vessels at port, ensure adequate stock levels of spares are maintained, and provide support to offshore personnel, operations, Project Managers, and other Fugro entities. You will continually seek new working methods, technology, and cost reductions to improve performance.
Supporting the Workshop Supervisor and as part of the Survey Workshop team, you will finalize equipment for the services we provide, as defined by the onshore and offshore project teams.
Who We're Looking For
This job is for you if you are independent, results-driven, and keen to learn. You are proactive and innovative when it comes to new ideas and thinking on your feet. You handle the impact of quick-changing demands and responsibilities well. You thrive in a team that cares about what they do and why they do it.
Essential: HNC/HND in Electronics/Computer Science. Vast experience in Electronics fault finding. Good knowledge of general PC and network configuration and software. Prior experience in a workshop environment. Valid, full UK driving licence. Based within commuting distance of the Aberdeen office.
