Dependent on skills, abilities and relevant experience, we are recruiting to: Level 1 Occupational Therapist: £31,074 to £33,294 Level 2 Occupational Therapist: £34,350 to £37,950 Level 3 Occupational Therapist: £38,700 to £41,373 About the Roles We have a strong team of Occupational Therapists and Community Support Workers who are passionate about supporting both adults and children with disabilities and long-term needs. Our Reablement Teams use a strength-based approach to help individuals to live the lives they want. Interventions could include providing information and advice, reablement approaches such as practice of task or alternative techniques, provision of equipment, and arranging major/minor adaptations. We aim to achieve the best outcomes for children and adults across Leicestershire, taking a strengths-based approach and embracing change and new opportunities. Within the reablement team of Blaby, Oadby, Wigston and Harborough we also provide assessments for people within the local prisons. Interventions are based on a compensatory approach, supporting individuals to manage their functional difficulties within the confines of the prison environment. The Lightbulb OT team are responsible for complex major adaptations, and design innovative schemes which give people access to essential facilities in their home. They work closely with housing officers within the Lightbulb service to progress schemes from design to completion. The OT’s working in the Single-Handed Care team focus on involving individuals in the physical care they receive to support them to remain at home. This will include looking at techniques or equipment that can reduce carers involvement with the aim to maintaining the individual’s functional ability and improve their experience of receiving care. About You To apply for this post, you must: Hold a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or expect to have completed your course and obtained registration in 2023. Have knowledge of occupational therapy methodologies, social care policies such as reablement and asset based social care, and relevant legislation including The Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Children’s Act and Disabled Facilities Grant. Have experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, and multi-agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes. Have experience of partnership working with citizens to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions. Be a confident communicator who is skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertive and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships. Be able to work proactively individually but also as a team member. Have good prioritisation and time management skills. We also expect you to share our commitment to our values and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process.
