Computing/IT Lecturer

We are seeking a dedicated Computing/IT Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring student retention and achievement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Computing and ICT, who is passionate about education and student success.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Participate in student recruitment activities, including open evenings, providing accurate information and guidance.
* Interview potential applicants and contribute to the college’s interviewing schedules.
* Design and implement effective induction programmes for new students.
* Act as a named tutor where appropriate, monitoring student attendance and academic progress.
* Provide students with support and guidance, referring to learning support services as needed.
* Teach BTEC Computing and ICT at Level 3, preparing engaging schemes of work and lesson plans.
* Utilise IT and learning technologies to enhance curriculum delivery.
* Assess student progress regularly, providing timely and constructive feedback.
* Prepare students for employability, career progression, and further education.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the college.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Computing/IT.
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience in teaching BTEC Computing and ICT at Level 3 or equivalent.
* Proficiency in IT and learning technologies.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Commitment to student-centred learning and continuous professional development.
