Prominent Civil Engineering main contractor based in Preston that is looking for a Senior Estimator to become a permanent member of their Pre-construction team. About the role of Senior Estimator
Working on Primarily Water & Wastewater, Highways, and structures projects across the North of England, valued between c.£500,000 - £30mill.
Responsibilities for Senior Estimator
Analyse and interpret information including appraisal of scheme requirements in terms of construction methods, programme and management.
Identify potential risks/benefits.
Liaise as appropriate with the Design team.
Compile a comprehensive net cost estimate for the works, including preliminary items.
Prepare and present net cost estimate for internal adjudication.
Convert estimates to tender
Timely submission of tender, ensuring that the Clients requirements are met.
Give others an overview of the scheme, highlighting any job specific risks/benefits.
Requirements for Senior Estimator
Appropriate industry qualification, e.g. Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree/NVQ/HND
Previous experience in the civil engineering sector - specifically Water/Wastewater, Highways, structures, or energy
Prioritise own workload and where appropriate that of others in the team - time management skills.
Recognise and source additional resource required to produce estimate.
Recognise submission requirements and compile a logical sequence of actions necessary to achieve the deadline.
Assemble estimate with or without use of estimating software package - appropriate IT skills.
Construction knowledge, ability to research and appraise viability of alternatives.
Offer for Senior Estimator
£60,000 - £65,000 p/a
£6450 car allowance
Hybrid working 2 days per week
26 days holiday + Bank holidays
