Senior Dosimetry Practitioner / Radiographer (Treatment Planning)
A permanent vacancy for a Senior Radiographer or Clinical Technologist has become available in Treatment Planning. The post holder will be required to create and quality check radiotherapy treatment plans in addition to other tasks required to prepare radiotherapy treatment plans. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated members of staff who will act as positive role models to all staff, demonstrate leadership and excellent teamwork.
The post holder is expected to work across all three sites. Home working is available with sufficient experience and upon agreement with the Expert Practitioner for the area.
Main duties of the job
1. Plan radiotherapy treatments within the Pre-Treatment Department.
2. Act as a resource for Treatment Planning technical and practical information to departmental and other staff groups.
3. Ensure smooth running of an area by contributing to the organisation of the department assigned to.
4. Maintain the skills required to be a versatile member of the pre-treatment department.
5. Actively involved in training rotational radiographers and students throughout pre-treatment areas.
6. Maintain high standards in planning pre-treatment areas and patient care.
7. Attain and maintain plan checker status in Treatment Planning for a wide range of treatments.
8. Accurately record planning details and issues regarding details.
9. Maintain channels of communication throughout the Physics Business Unit and Radiotherapy Directorate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Therapy Radiography or Physics
* Evidence of CPD activities
* HCPC registration as Therapy Radiographer or Equivalent
* Post Graduate study
Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of radiotherapy techniques
* Significant knowledge of imaging processes used within the department
* Significant knowledge of planning techniques
* Demonstrable detailed knowledge of anatomy, oncology, radiobiology and physics
* Knowledge of current Health Service and Oncology specific legislation/plans
Experience
* Extensive post-graduate experience in radiotherapy
* Dosimetry Planning Experience
* Experience in a large radiotherapy department
* Significant previous Senior experience (Band 6)
