Electronic and Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Hours: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Ready to take your engineering skills to the next level? Our awesome client in Mildenhall is on the hunt for an enthusiastic Electronic & Electrical Engineer to join their team! If you’ve got knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, PLC controllers, and top-notch fault-finding skills, we want to hear from you!
Duties to Include:
1. Install new and existing equipment, including electrical and electronic control systems.
2. Support the Department Head with maintenance tasks for all departments in the group.
3. Quickly respond to machinery breakdowns using fault-finding techniques, PLC software, and test equipment.
4. Program and update PLCs, upgrade control panels for automated systems, with experience in Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi systems being a plus.
5. Replace outdated systems to ensure company-wide reliability and consistency.
6. Assist production teams to meet targets by carrying out planned maintenance.
7. Identify and implement continuous improvement activities throughout the site.
8. Suggest improvements and cost-saving ideas for all engineering activities.
9. Record all maintenance tasks using the Maintenance software.
10. Assist or supervise service engineers/contractors when needed.
11. Ensure all equipment meets regulations, safety standards, and insurance requirements.
What we are looking for:
1. At least 5 years of experience in a production support role.
2. Strong skills in electrical and electronic fault finding, diagnosis, and repair.
3. Excellent communication skills to build relationships with internal and external technical teams.
4. Qualification in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field (like Mechatronics) at a minimum of level 3 (City & Guilds, BTEC ONC, or equivalent).
5. Basic knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, variable speed drives, inverters, servo drives, 3-phase electrical systems, and motors (experience with vibration feed controllers is a plus).
6. Experience with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi systems is highly desirable.
