We have a new opportunity for a Probate Litigation Senior Associate (8PQE+) to join our leading specialist team in Altrincham.

The team Our Contentious Trusts and Probate team deals with a wide range of high-value and complex cases and its strong reputation is long-recognised by The Legal 500 granting them 'Top Tier' status. The team is one of the largest in the country and continues to go from strength to strength.
Typical matters include:
1. Drafting Larke-v-Nugus letters and interrogating and interpreting responses.
2. Acting for claimants and defendants on IPFDA claims and validity challenges, including drafting proceedings, drafting witness statements, undertaking disclosure and instructing counsel.
3. Assessing and reviewing enquiries and advising members of the public. Converting those enquiries into clients.
4. Applying for medical records and reviewing and interpreting the same.
5. Assisting with matters arising from the Myerson Private Client team, including advising on Estates that become contested.
6. Giving accurate, prompt, realistic and relevant advice in response to clients' enquiries whilst managing their expectations.
7. Gaining an understanding of clients' requirements and how to achieve their needs.
8. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
9. Actively promoting marketing opportunities, including writing blogs and press releases, and being proactive in networking and business development.
10. Playing a key role in developing business for the department.
11. Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team.
12. Attending internal and external training and networking events.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with at least 8PQE. Previous experience in dealing with contentious probate matters is essential, ideally at a national or leading regional practice.
The position would suit those with a good academic background and training, who are looking to further develop their career. Candidates are required to have excellent client management and matter management skills. The ability to work well with experienced professionals, within a team-oriented environment whilst maintaining high work standards and finding sound solutions to complex legal issues is essential.
The successful candidate will conduct their own work, supervise junior members of the team and work on a wide range of contentious trusts and probate matters, providing high-quality advice representing a leading law firm.
