Are you interested in pushing the sustainability agenda across the manufacturing supply chain, enabling manufacturers to achieve their emissions goals? We have an exciting opportunity for a senior project engineer with experience in renewable energy systems, low carbon technologies, mechanical or electronics engineering to join the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) North West in Lancashire as we continue to grow our Low Carbon team.
The low carbon smart building team, based at our Lancashire facility, has been established following a £2.5m investment in our Low Carbon Smart Factory demonstrator with retrofittable low carbon technologies including solar, battery storage, IoT enabled environmental and asset monitoring systems. With plans for the Low Carbon team to be one of the leading groups at AMRC North West.
Your work will encompass all aspects of working with manufacturers, large and small, to identify and deliver projects aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, quality and sustainability, with a focus on renewable energy and low carbon technology development. You will be required to visit manufacturing sites across the region; a pool car will be available.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
1. Be a qualified engineer with strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and low carbon technologies.
2. Have gained significant experience working in or with manufacturing businesses with a focus on developing, implementing and managing technology to drive sustainability measures.
3. Have a demonstrable track record of scoping and successfully delivering projects to tight deadlines.
4. Have excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach. You will enjoy working with a range of people across multiple departments, businesses and project teams to deliver impactful results.
5. Enjoy researching new approaches and have a passion for sustainability and a thirst for knowledge of new and emerging technologies and decarbonisation processes.
