Main purpose of the role: You will be delivering the CPCAB Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People Diploma. This will involve leading the theory discussions, assessing student’s counselling skills and regular marking of homework. You will also sign off their final portfolio at the end of the course and ensure learners are prepared for the external assessment. Familiarity with a variety of counselling approaches will be advantageous for this role. The courses at BCoT are integrative, so experience and knowledge of a variety of counselling modalities would be advantageous, with ideally a person centred/humanistic foundation. Applicants must have: • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP-L5) : Core tutor specification • 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above e.g. TC-L4 AND Relevant training specific to working with CYP e.g. CYP-L5 • Min 10 hours of personal therapy • Member of a professional association for counselling or psychotherapy. • 30 hours per year CPD activities. • 2 years post-qualifying practice and current CYP practitioner AND Experienced in providing supervision to counsellors working with CYP. • Teaching qualification AND 2 years teaching and assessing counselling CPCAB counselling qualifications at level 4 or above Co-Tutor Applicants need to have: • 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 and above.e.g. TC-L4 AND Relevant training specific to working with CYP e.g. CYP-L5 • Current CYP practitioner AND Experience of providing supervision to counsellors. • 1 year teaching and assessing CPCAB counselling qualifications at level 4 or above. In addition, ALL applicants will need to have the following credentials: • Be a member of a profession association of counselling or psychotherapy (i.e. BACP or UKCP) • Be able to evidence CPD, a minimum of 30 hours and committed to continue professional development. • To hold a minimum of a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or be working towards this or another teaching qualification. • Willingness to work with co-tutors and in the wider tutor team. • Available to attend termly / quarterly team meeting outside of teaching hours. • Passion and interest in developing students and the counselling profession.
